We do Optifast. They will help you with the pricing and everything. It's been great. We do 0 advertising for it. The Optifast website drives all the traffic to us through their website. We do about $3-$5000 gross/month with it. Very easy.

Matt: I checked out the Optifast web site and see that they have a two day training program. Is there a charge for this program? Are there any other charges to be an official "Optifast Clinic? How long do participants continue on the program (typically) until they go back to "real" food? Do they give you any data on the percentage of participants who are able to avoif putting the weight they lost back on a year or two later??

Guy - don't know. My nurse did not have to go to the training. The rep trained her over the phone. I would suggest getting in contact with your rep.

Guy - couple other thoughts that I had. #1 -you will need to make sure you have plenty of storage to keep the food. You will always need to keep a pretty ample supply of food on hand. Last thing you want to do is run out of food on someone. #2 you will need to buy a special chair for your clients. You will get some really large people and most chairs can't handle a 300+ lb person. We had to special order a chair (about $400).

Matt: Thanks for the information. Your comments about "the chair" made me curious. Does something "special" happen in the chair? Is the chair used for some type of "treatment"??

It's just a very strong and wide chair. It looks like a small bench with no arms on the sides. It's made to support very overweight people and accomodate their wide frame.

We didn't have to go to that training. My rep just prepped my NP over the phone. It's not that hard. No charges to become an official clinic. All your other questions can be handled by your rep - I really don't know. Thanks.

We have also been looking in to this. What does it cost for the food?? How much do you need to keep on hand? Any experience with medifast program?
