hello i do not have experience with lasering the axila of double mastectomy patients but have a solid medical background. I would first find out if they had an axillary dissection or lymphnode dissection. If the nodes are altered or removed the lymphatic drainage in the arm will be comprimised thus increased potential for infection. They could get an infection just by shaving the hair and scratching the skin.
Other than that there should be no contraindications to laser the axila post mastectomy. However if there is any edema ( swelling) of her arms I would not do anyting at all. It is not worth the risk.
I may have been a little unclear in my reply. If there was no axillary dissection then there should be no contraindication but if a node dissection was performed the risk of infection is there. There is always the potential for a post laser folliculitis etc so it in my opinion would not be worth the risk.

Depends on why the mastectomies were done. Prophylactic? Actual malignancy? Was axillary dissection performed? If done for prophylactic reasons and no nodes, then go ahead but if metastatic disease was found in the axilla, It's not worth the risk. Applying heat to an area that had cancer just doesn't make sense. There is another procedure called Sugaring that would be safe in this situation. More long term result than waxing and not as painful to have done. Permanent results typically occur after several treatments at 3 week intervals.
