Physician to Physician Discussions > treatment of post sclerotherapy pigmentation

Does anyone have advice for treating post scerotherapy hyperpigmentation? I would like to try IPL but am wondering what settings to use.

I have used IPL successfully for this. I have Quantum and treat at 560nm P1 and about 16-18J - in other words same settings as for facial rejuv but low low power (for reference I usually treat faces at 20-26j)

tincture of time is best treatment. Q-Switched 1064 can help.

You MUST tell patient that this may (will) happen and it will fade over time.
Expectations are key.

The pigmentation will fade, but the veins will remain gone!

Thank you for your responses. I agree that most pigmentation fades over time but in this case the patient's pigmentation has been present for approx. 1 year (and wouldn't you know it, he is a lawyer!). I will try the IPL.
