Physician to Physician Discussions > Pointe Lift vs. Swift Lift
The Swift Lift: Is a shorter, quicker form of the traditional surgical face lift. The dermis is still delaminated from the underlying structures. The incision running along the hairline and ear is the same, etc. The real difference is that it's done under local anesthetic as an outpatient. I know that it's got a few practitioners in my area and I've talked extensively with some of them about it. Their opinions are mixed and so I haven't trained in it yet although I would consider it.
Pointe Lift: This procedure, from what I can gather about it is really something different. It is designed to address ptosis and does not invove any cutting as far as I can gather. Rather, it is a "suture-lift" that is performed entirely through needle holes and eliminates down-time almost entirely (measured in hours). I don't think it involves "barbed" sutures like aptos threading, Thread Lift and Feather Lift. I read one plastic surgeons comments on it after he had been trained and he was greatly impressed. He said that, "unless you need to do bone revision for some reason, Pointe Lift is superior in every way to any surgical lift, respects the anatomy, is reversible, etc, etc, etc". He really thought it was revolutionary.
I would like to get trained in Pointe Lift myself. If anyone knows where I can. It seems to be something of a closely guarded trade secret. Any comments or help's appreciated.
Point Lift is a suture plication technique that performed only with special needles and suture's. Swift Lift is different technique for a face lift but still involves the cut, pull and suture method. You should be able to find trainers for Swift Lift through a simple search. Point Lift might be more difficult. I'd contact Jeff if you were interested.
