Physician to Physician Discussions > used cosmetic dermatology books?
You need to remember that by the time a book has been published thye are approximately 4 to 5 years behind. I would recommend to just go ahead and purchase new. Personally, I think staying current with the journals is the best way to stay current. There are also some free online aesthetic CME courses available.
which journals would you recommend? And where can I find the online cme courses? thank you for your input.
Hope this is OK Jeff. There are 3 good courses on fillers at www.thederm.org. Also, if you look at a lot of the laser companies they will have webinars available. Of course it is based on their laser or IPL system but you can often glean information from them to use with your current system. Many companies will give you access to their webinars but you may end up talking to their reps. I watch most of the Cutera, Sciton and Thermage webinars.
As far as journals I have listed below:
1. Journal of Cosmetic Surgery
2. ASLMS Journal
3. Cosmetic Surgery Times
4. Dermatology Times
5. Plastic Surgery Times
6. Aesthetic Buyers Guide
I also look for review articles on the internet to stay as current as I can. The information is there you just have to find it. Some of the above journals I do not have complete access to but I read as much as I can.
Fine with me... when are you going to email me LH so we can get you set up with an account so you can post?
JMD, try eBay's half.com. A great book is Cosmetic Dermatology by Baumann
thank you LH and DermaRogue. I'll check out all those resources.
I'm looking to educate myself re: aesthetic medicine as much as possible by reading cosmetic dermatology textbooks to supplement courses I've taken. I'm finding these books to be very expensive. Does anyone have current cosmetic dermatology books they would be interested in selling? I have a botox & a PDT source already. I'd like a chemical peel, filler, and a atlas book. If so, please email me. thank you.
