what is your opinion for the treatment of local fat deposits whith Phosphatidylcholine s.c. injections? is there any risk of atrophy?

In the case of PPC and DC, you want to make sure to get it under the dermis. If it is injected into the dermis it can cause necrosis of the skin at the injection site. I have not seen any issues of atrophy.

LH- what concentrations of PPC/DC have you found most effective?

thanks

i haven't tried it yet...

PPC - 5%
DCA - 4.25%

I buy the PPC/DCA 10%/9.5% and then mix 1:1 with saline.

thanks for the reply

I am using the same concentrations.

We do something a little different... Our 10mL syringe contains:
-5 cc 10%/9.5% PCDC
-1 cc L-carnitine 500mg/mL
-1 cc Melilotus 2 or 4% (diuretic)
-1/2 cc Trental 50 mg/mL
-1/2 cc Isoproterenol 32 pico
-1/2 cc Lido 2%
-1 1/2 cc Saline

We seem to have a lot fewer "nodules" left under the skin after treatments using this mixture

Some are using hyaluronidase as it may help the PPC/DC diffuse more within the tissue. I my start using it again. I have seen more discomfort sine using the PPC/DC combination. What are your experiences with it.

I am also trying to decide if I am going to continue offering lipodissolve. Results can be variable.

LH
I stopped offering this service 2 years ago. Most patients reported significant swelling, discomfort, N/V and bruising that took 1-2 weeks to disappear. After 7 or so of these treatments some had an improvement of an inch and a half but did not feel that is was worth it. It is not a lunchtime procedure as most needed to lie down the rest of the day or stay near the bathroom because of nausea.

I refer to a plastics guy for lipo instead-at least they are swollen and bruised once!

I was also a bit nervous about someone having a real problem and having no legal backup without FDA approval.I would be a sitting duck and I had just opened my own practice.

I am amazed at all the clinics that opened just to do this-I just can't imagine they can stay in business.

I realize some docs get great results but I have not met them personally as the ones I know don't like it.

Just my 2 cents on this issue-it didn't work for my clinic.

Will you do Laser lipo instead?

Yes, I plan to offer laser lipo and also likely to do smaller areas of lipo. I do not want to get into the 8 liter patients. I will leave that up to plastics.
