Physician to Physician Discussions > Cynosure Elite vs Light Sheer XC

Hi I am wondering if anyone has experience with the Elite?

I am contemplating buying a used LightSheer XC vs a new Elite (I know I could save alot with the Lightsheer XC, and I have heard they are dependable).

Just wondering everyone's thoughts? No reps please.

I have heard nothing but good things about both. The only thing would be to make sure you can get good service on the used lightsheer.
If you dont mind what is the price of the new elite?

I forget the quote, the price changes, you know that is, not cheap though, I could get at least 2-3 used light sheers for one new elite

You should be able to get one used Elite for a little more than the price of a used Lightsheer XC. A little more and you'd get a 12 month warranty with it.

With regard to spot size, there is no comparison. The Elite wins. With regard to wavelength. No comparison. The Elite wins. Serviceability? The Elite. Durability? The Elite. Parts availability? The Elite. ROI? Elite.

It's like comparing a Honda Civic to a BMW 550i... except they both cost about the same. Remember the Elite has Yag and Alex, and 1,3,5,7,10,12, and 15mm spot sizes.

Have you tried the LightSheer Duet? I have been using lasers for over 10 years and it is the best for large treatment areas. You really cut your treatment time in half and no messy gel. We just purchased the Cynosure Elite and I am trying to make friends with it. The best advice I can give is be careful with the Alexandrite. Patients say it hurts (not so with the Duet, patients will think you're fantastic!) and patients are more prone to burning with the 755 wavelength.
My vote would be for the Duet. I never thought I could miss a laser. Not using it because I changed jobs.
Good Luck!
