Physician to Physician Discussions > Palomar Icon Artisan
veinguy, the decision will depend on what treatments you would like to offer in your clinic and the needs of your target market. what do you have in mind?
veinguy,
You need to let us know what type of procedures you are wanting to do. You will want to demo more than 1 companies lasers.
Let us know and we can help guide you through the process. Do NOT make a $200,000 mistake.

We were planning on treating Acne scarring, rosacea, Vascular lesions, skin pigmentation, skin resurfacing, micro laser peel, wrinkles, skin tightening etc.
Dr. Hansen,
I went to your website and watched the video, "What we do?". I liked it when you said, "One laser can not do everything. Each laser has a strong point". I agree with you 100%. I've tried asking several people and they always invariably start discussing Lased companies. I do not favor any company in particular. I want to offer best, safe, most effective treatment available to my patients. If you can share your expertise, it would be appreciated very much!
LH, Megan,
still waiting for your replies!
Need to make our decision soon. Any help would be appreciated!
veinguy, I suggest that you think twice on purchasing lasers (in general). These are very expensive, as what Dr. Hansen implies. But if you are ready for the purchase, keep in mind that the machine may be running well for a couple of years. But then, expect complications. Read Mickey Couvertier's latest post on this so you know what to do. And..one more thing, I believe there is no one laser that can treat all what you've mentioned above. Maybe it's better if you lease the machines so that you can have a feel of what will work best in your practice. Read the physician interviews too, as they have provided info on what laser/IPL they are using. Good luck!
Couldn't agree more with Megan. Have you read the Medical Spa MD's interview series veinguy? Good stuff. You can pick up a lot of info that you can apply to your practice. Good luck!
Hi Veinguy:
I just came across your post, and may be too late of a response, but just wanted to say that we've been using Palomar lasers for over 6 years now, and in that time span, have only had 1 very minor burn from hair removal - not a big deal at all. The Palomar IPL platform is very safe and effective, and the peace of mind you get from the superior quality and safety is worth the price. That said, we used to have the Starlux 500 and last year we upgraded to the ICON.
Hi everyone! Just venturing into aesthetics business. The # of laser companies and type of laser platforms available, all that information is so overwhelming. I was very relieved when I saw people posting their questions on this forum and others helping them with their input. We demoed Palomar Icon, it was very impressive. Does anyone here have any experience with it or any comments? Any help would be appreciated!
