Hello fellow Physicians
I have come to this forum with great hope. I am a hospitalist in Maryland. I am interested in opening a medical spa. I dont have my own practice. So I would have to start from scratch. Can someone please guide me as to where to start? What courses to take? I want to start with some laser and some dermal fillers etc, something on a smaller scale.
Can someone guide me through this process or guide me to a starting place? I am looking into taking a laser course provided by ASLMS in october. other than that, I have no clue what to do!

You're starting in the right place. I would read through this site with some... dedication. There's a tremendous amount of information as disinformation everywhere and you'll undoubtedly have some wrong turns. Deal everywhere with a little skepticism and trust your gut. Go slow. There's no rush and building the wrong business is the real landmine.

Thanks for your reply! you are absolutely right! I have been reading through posts here and i am more scared then ever looking into this business. There are so may scammers out there. IT seems that more i read, more confused I get on how to get started. Since I have never done any type of business ever, and residency definitely doesn't teach a thing about business, Med SPa is looking more and more like an unachievable dream! :(

I am going to keep reading through. If you have any other suggestions, please do let me know. I definitely do want to start very small but HOW?!!! Very frustrated!
