I strongly disagree. I am a board certified plastic surgeon and over the past 25 years I have devoted a signigicant portion of my practice to skin care and the treatment of acne scarring. I have treated over 3,000 patients for acne scar improvement and have tried every technique (including fractional laser) under the sun. I started with dermabrasion-stopped.. next chemical peels-stopped.. now my approach is as follows. 1. Control the acne 2. Radiofrequency scar resurfacing 3. Laser Resurfacing. (CO2 /Erbium) I have come to the conclusion that there is some improvement with fractionl laser but it is not significant enough for me to continue to use. I hope this has helped. If you require more info. feel free to contact me.
I believe we're still lucky in our area coz we still have a cosmetic derma that still uses 90% TCA on some acne scars. Thereafter, she will treat it with fraxel/dermabrasion.
Hey RegOg,
How many TCA peels are performed before the fraxel for your acne scar protocol?

I recently attended the IMCAS conference in Paris and a couple of speakers stated that in their opinions RF fractional (e.g. Endymed and others) was the best available treatment for acne scars, i.e. better than any type of Fraxel or other resurfacing treatment. Does anyone agree or disagree with this and why?
