Physician to Physician Discussions > Skin Product With AHA/PHA gluconolactone, Retinol -VitC.etc

Hello everyone....
I would like if skin care experts can advise me if I were to get one skin care product made for my clinic specifically what it should contain. I have loved in the past the neostrata range and the obagi range exfoliating creams, particularly the crx exfoliating lotion with vitc, lactic, and glycolic acid. The neostrata is quite good with different products, AHA/PHA, Lacto in different products. I would like to offer my patients one cream/lotion to start off with and the aim is to resurface the skin - hence, what should it be. This maybe cheeky getting advice here but I hope the response from you guys benefits others who are thinking the same or would like to introduce their clients/patients to medical skin care.

Question: What ingredients (and percentage of strength) would compromise an ideal skin resurfacing cream for someone who is a beginner to AHAs./Retinols..etc.

Thank You

I don't think it would be such a good idea to start off with just one cream. There really isn't any one size fits all cream or even one skin care line that fits all.
Look through your patient database. Who are your top spenders? who are your frequent fliers? What is the demographic?
Are all you're interested in is resurfacing the skin?
What about a few different SPF's strenghts including a total block to help protect the skin?
What about a very emollient, very rich after care mask for post laser/micro care when the skin gets so dehydrated?
The most frustrated patients we see for skin care are rosacea cases-just for general maintence. Ther's no way their going to use an AHA line.
Do you have crunchy-granola hippie dippie types-what about an all natural line-Priori makes an amazing coffeeberry line that was started by the chemist that was behind Burt's Bees.
What about acne prone skin both young and old?
Personally I like to mix and match in order to customize the skincare regime for each patient, and expect 10-15% of total monthly collections to come from skincare-I don't think 1 in-house cream is going to pull that type of $$$ in.

actually, very good point about demographics....
though we work in a very posh area of one of the biggest cities in the world we are the cheapest there...we provide treatment at very affordable prices and hence each doctor (3 total) see 3-4k patients per year.....hence, we are bringing alot of new clients that have not done much skin care ...and i realize they are on a budet and want to see their buck go far. Most of them have never tried any medical skin care....obagi, neostrata..etc...and hence i spent alot of time educating them....now that we have a couple thousand on these products with new people still coming in we thought that if we are going to educate people on a product like Neostrata - who before sold only through physicians offices but now are selling their own products online after we made them famous - why bother...our same client (no matter how loyal they are some / most will still go for a cheaper option of the same cream online) who we educated now we have lost the goodwill..or say its been automatically transferred to neostrata....anyway, hence the idea came to start our own little brand.
too be very honest i have seen some good results with PHA and rosacea.
The SPF we have already decided to go for as its simple and easy concept there.

Please keep posting the views..im learning new things too!
