Medspa Legal & Legislation > Licensing for New Med Spa
I am an esthetician in the state of PA and I am opening a skin care center and looking to offer medical facial rejuvenation treatments to be performed by a doctor. Does anyone have any info legal or otherwise as to the best way to bring a doctor on staff. Should he/she come on board as an independant contractor?
What regulatory board then regulates the facility. If I offered basic skin care I would register the facility with the board of cosmetology, but for medical skin care services I am not sure what to do.
Does any one have some advice on this?
Gotten any answers to your questions since posting them? If so, I'd be interested in what they are. Thanks.
We have the same questions as the esthetician in PA, except we are in Arkansas. Does anyone have these answers? Also does the Doctor have to do the consults or can a trained technition do these as they will be doing the services. We are looking to do IPL and botox/fillers
please feel free to email me at uscjess14@yahoo.com
Trained technicians can not inject anything. They must be licensed such as a nurse or up. Technicians can do IPL in some states. They can not in the state I am from.
The only way you will know for sure is to contact a lawyer that knows about health laws in Arkansas. You will aslo want to check with the medical board and your state board for aestheticians.
LH: Very well spoken, counselor. You took the words right out of my mouth.
When you buy out an existing business, do you immediately have to file new business license or permit to occupancy informationwith the city? More specifically if you are buying an existing business and changing the name. (Obviously this would depend on which state you are in.)
