Mike: I suggest a long pulsed Nd:YAG laser for treating darker skin types. There are a number of good brands.
Well, I['ve been looking at the Cynosure Elite MPX and the Candela Gentlemax (what is the differnce between the gentlemax and the Gentlemax PRO??) as they seem to have the best of both worklds, however I've read a few report of problems with the candela unit on here..
If I didn't need the Hair removal as the primary function of the device, I would probably go for a lutronic spectra, as that seems to tick all the other boxes and will be useful for both the Aesthetician and the Dermatologist.
Am I thinking along the right lines here? I just want to get my research down before i start talking to reps and they spin everything upside down. ;)

Hi Everyone,
We currently have a Lightsheer Duet, and it's a workhorse, most people have good results, and we're generally very happy with it. We're fortunate that the room is booked enough that we have to get another laser, however, I'd like to get something from a different manufacturer - The lumenis reps here are pretty bad, so when anything goes wrong, it becomes a huge ballache. The less I have to deal with them the better.
I'd also like something that is better at treating the darker skin types (in the middle east here)..
I've been looking at Candela and Alma, who are well represented here, but I think we can get just about anything.
I suppose I'm asking what is the consensus on the best alternative to the Lightsheer then?
