Cosmetic IPL Laser Reviews & Comparisons > Syneron Elos vs. Candela Gentlelase

Hello,
I would like you get your input in regards to the effectiveness of these two lasers, and which one I should consider as a method of permanent hair removal.
Elos, I have found, describes its treatment as "hair reduction" whereas Gentlelase is more with "hair removal." After I finish my degree, I plan on opening a spa. I would love to buy equipment I have already used for myself, as personal experience, that I provide my clients with, means more than anything to me.
Your opinions are greatly valued.
Thanks again.

We have both. I think GentleLase is far superior for removing dark hair from light skin than an IPL. We use the Elos (IPL) only for Type IV - VI patients. It does a fair job. I don't know if the GentleYag is better because we don't have one. The Elos is good for facial rejuvination though.

The Syneron Comet Diode w/Elos, has anyone used this system for hair removal and what were your findings. I have not been able to get any first hand info from a user on the Syneron Comet diode. I am looking to make a purchase soon, can anyone shed some light?

I am a 23 year old middle eastern woman and have been trying different lasers for the past 3 years. I can tell you the only laser that worked was the Candela Gentlelase. I honestly had a beard going from a hormonal disorder but after 4 treatments my facial hair is gone and has not grown back.

Hello,

I am using a Syneron e- Max Elos for laser hair removal. I have a few questions that someone may be able to answer. Thanks in advance.

1. During a treatment the screen brought up "bad coupling" I am not 100% sure what that means any insights??

2. For skin type IV and above what is ideal for starting the first treatment with ? For example if I am doing chest I would do the max RF but my optical must be and what starting point without burning patient.

Thanks,

Oh and if anyone has a training video, book or etc please inform me where I may pick up my copy.

To Sabrina: In reading your post, it is clear that if you sincerely need answers to those questions....you have no business operating a laser or IPL. You need education. If you are an esthetician: you give the esthetician with appropriate training and experience a bad name. If you are a nurse or an M.D., or if you work for an M.D. (he or she) better take a few laser physics classes.

I'm not trying to hurt your feelings, Sabrina, but you should not go anywhere near IPL or lasers until you know what the heck you are doing.,

Dear Sabrina, I think you may have bought the laser used. Therefore you did not receive critical laser information or laser physics at all. Syneron is one of the best lasers out there for removing darker hairs but it can be also the most dangerous laser out there. Beware of bad coupling from syneron, it means you may cause an arch burn on your patients.
