Cosmetic IPL Laser Reviews & Comparisons > Quantum / Luminesis vs. Ellipse Flex / DDD

I am a Dermatologist in Europe. As an initial machine I am looking for a medical grade IPL later followed by a dedicated laser.
The market is untested, cash is an issue. I am a newcomer and therefore do not want to buy a used unfamiliar machine.
The cheapest option appears to me is the Quantum Lumenis. One step more expensive but as well very versatile is the Ellipse flex from DDD.
Who has used both machines?
What do you think?

skinulike2,
Be careful with the Quantum. I worked with one for 3 years. The power source will vary over time and you will find that you have to continually adjust your fluence. Also to change filters (560 or 590) or to change spot sizes you have to turn the machine off, change the heads, then recalibrate. That took about 10 additional minutes. I have worked with the Lumenis One (newer IPL) and it is much more user friendly. You can get a good Lumenis One (Used) for around $40,000. A MD that I used to work for has his for sale for that and it has only been used for about 6 months.
Email me if you would like his #.

That is false information, I have owned my quantum coming up to 6 years. There is no need to turn off the machine to change your head and it does not need calibration every time you turn it on. It needs to be calibrated every 3000 shots, and it only takes 30 seconds to do it.
Maybe you need to get your rep in to show you how to change the head without turning the machine off.
