Cosmetic IPL Laser Reviews & Comparisons > Luminus Quantum and lightsheer?
The lighsheer enjoys the greatest coverage of any of the devices, but it's older technology. Check out the size of the treatment area, the Palomar's about 2.5 times as big. In my experience and for what it's worth, buy a used Palomar Medilux as your first device. It's cheaper than the Starlux. The reason you can get the Luminus so cheap is that it's old and people are moving up. I don't remember where, but somewhere on this site is a link to a used laser broker. Call around. My guess is you'll find that Palomar has a better rep.
BTW: I've heard that Luminus is actually licensing Palomars old technology for the lightsheer.

Candela has told me about a new IPL, but I'm just not a big IPL fan. My experience working w/ Candela has been great. I like both lasers, but the Gentlelase makes us at least $12,000 per week, I actually extended some evenings until 7:00 p.m. due to the demand. We can charge less than others offices and still make much more money because we generate so much more income PER MINUTE w/ the Gentlelase system. The V-beam doesn't generate nearly that much revenue, but very effective for Rosacea, veins and skin tightening. I would also advise strongly against purchasing used lasers. A warrantee is very important, especially if you really work your lasers like we do.
It has a one year warranty, new handsets. 2 years 100,000 pulse warranty. Very large spot size.
Facial rejuvenation
facial veins
leg veins
hair removal
pigmented spots
How have the results been with the Gentlelase? My understanding is that the larger treatment head causes too much scatter and the laser beam then does not uniformly penetrate to the depth needed and one must even use less energy due to a "hot spot" in the center to make up for this scatter. Are most clients happy after about 6 treatments or so?
It would be wonderful to find a device that could do full legs in 25 minutes that is for sure both for us and for the client's sake.
We have a new medspa business and are shopping the best laser/IPL which will provide the most services. Are the IPL's as effective at hair removal? Are the lasers with the exchangable hand pieces as versitile as advertised? Our goal is to add hair removal & facial rejuv to our menu. Is there any feedback on the McCue VPL?

If you're asking a question:
* Make it very specific: Don't ask "what IPL should I buy?" Questions like that aren't worth the answers they generate and let everyone know that you haven't even read this post.
Our practice has been using the Ultra VPL for quite a while now, and its been doing a great job. Really easy to use and our clients are happy with the results. I have even had my legs worked on. I have only had 2 treatments and I would say 45% of the hair is gone already.
I been using the Quanta System Eternal Youth IPL, it has been an amazing machine and am looking to invest in a 2nd unit. it performs all treatments in the spectrum of 400 acne, 550 vascular, rosacea and stuborn pigmentation like lentigo, 570 skin rejuvenation on light skin (1-3) and 590nm Skin rejuvenation on skyn type (4) and also hair removal on light pigmented hairs, 625nm for hair removal,
My clients have seen good results since the 1st session and after a course of 6 they are over the moon.
I defenitly recommend you to try the Unit which also features 2 handpices able to provide 12000 flashes (60.000) from each handpiece. and alos a calibration port so you know the status of the lamp ( how much energy is left in it)
How does this compare with starlux from palomar?
Are these good machines. They have a good price.
