You need to use the glasses, shields, or whatever the laser rep sold the clinic as the proper eye equipment to use with that laser.

I worked for American Laser Centers, and was asked to do a treatment (using an Amerilaser - around the client's eyebrows and near the eyes) without using laser eye shields. I thought we needed to use such shields (NOT JUST THE GLASSES) on the client when treating the face. What should be the proper procedure in your opinion(s).
As an RN, I know I can get a job elsewhere, but I am very concerned for the laser industry as a whole because there may be inconsistencies with safety at certain clinics. Something, that if exposed in an unsavory manner, might cause a loss of revenue to clinics nationwide. I also know that this forum appears to be the most balanced one out there, so I am really hoping for some answers, so I can move on to a better job with a clear concience (I can't just leave my job because it is unsafe, I need to let my clients know what their safety needs are also.)
Any help/info would be much appreciated. Thank you.
