It's low intensity level laser therapy used to stimulate and/or stop or slow down the cell's function. It's used for chronic pain like rheumatoid arthritis. the army have been playing around with it for possible wound care and I believe it's also used on animals like race horses. I think it also includes cold laser therapy.

Photomodulation is another term for cold lasers, low level lasers and a host of other names. These are very low powered laser diodes (bulbs). In contrast with surgical lasers (500 milliwatts or up) that cut and coagulate, these diodes are usually about 5 mW. These laser beams typically restore the disturbed cellular functions and structures.
I have designed and developed the technology and techniques of using these instruments medically. You can take care of most medical illnesses with these instruments on an office setting and avoid the common reactions of medications. Dr Zuckermans uses in Podiatry are just a few. It is excellent for trauma, pains specially arthritic are almost immediately controlled. burns and non haling wounds even with infections are controlled. Aesthetic procedures with dermatology instruments are mostly low level lasers.
Surf the internet on low level lasers and you will be amazed on what these instruments can do.
I came across this a few days ago, and have NO idea what it is. Can anybody shed light on what Photobiomodulation is
Thanks
