Injectable Treatments: Botox & Filler Injections > Botox Indications

Botox is mainly used to treat wrinkles for adults (aged 30 and up). However some people start getting dynamic expression lines in their 20s. What age should you begin using Botox?

Botox is contraindicated in patients under 18 years of age. As doctors we should only be administering injections in patients that are older.

We are definitely seeing an increase in the twenties age group for ‘anti-aging’ treatments including Botox. My advice to all of these younger patients is to use very minimal amounts of Botox. For docs, bear in mind to inject only in particular muscles while avoiding others so as to leave a maximum amount of movement. This technique can still help reduce early visible lines and help to prevent new ones from forming.

I also stress the importance of other treatment modalities (good topicals, glycolic acid peels, IPL sessions) and the importance of skin care, SPF and sun avoidance.

I have seen extremely deep frown lines (habitual frowners) where higher doses and even immobilization is required for maximum effect.

I agree with Nikolai, however my youngest age is 21 years. My twenty-something patients are wise, we use minimal amounts of Botox. For sure they will never get static wrinkles!

i think the best way for those resistant frown lines , is not an overdose of botox becoz if these lines are present at rest then the only way to reduce them is fillers , i treat them with little botox to minimize followed by restalyen , but rememeber very superficial to be used and very little amount as we should alway pay attention to the supratrochlear artery

Whilst sadly seeing an increase in younger patients using ' anti-ageing' treatments such as Botox, do you feel there is an age that is unsuccessful to receive this treatment because a patient is too old? Also do you feel you have particular success when treating patients with Botox if they are of a specific age?

It is interesting to know that Botox is being used in younger age groups as well. I am curious to know whether these patients can be "weaned off" botox ultimately and be without wrinkles for long periods?

I firmly believe that Botox treatments are not age specific. As an estethician, we must manage our patient's expectations wisely so that we don't end up disappointing them.

Botox is used for wrinkle-free skin and to look young. Botox treatment is approved for individuals aged 18 and above. Before 18 you should not try Botox treatment. Buy Botox online at myedstore at the cheapest price. For more:
