An additional question: How does one assess prior to administration of Juvederm-xc ( containing lidocaine) if one is actually allergic to this anesthetic? Do all the Juvederm products contain lidocaine or is this something only contained in the newest rendition? Is a lidocaine allergy all that common and would a patient with a penicillin allergy be more prone to also have an allergy to lidocaine?

Does Juvederm have to be injected by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon or can an internist/general practictioner administer it? I've heard nurses and eestheticians are now also doing injections. This would be for the nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Also, I read it can now be injected under the eyes to help with the hollowed out area and wrinkles. I would appreciate any information.
Thanks. Lin
