Injectable Treatments: Botox & Filler Injections > Juvederm XC Migration
I have been injecting for 8 years and have mostly preferred Juvederm over Restylane in the lips...however lately, I have been encountering your same problem and Have resorted back to using Restylane to the lips whether for augmentation or vermillion border. Not sure why?

I injected Juvederm Ultra into the nasolabial folds and it has migrated up to the bottom eyelids on one side of the patient and the cheeks on the other side of the patient.

I prefer Juvederm for all injections because of the duration and smoothness. Ultra in fine lines and lips and Ultra Plus to give the volume. I educate my patients to not massage it, because I put it were I want it. I had a patient who massaged her face and it did move the product. Tell your patients to NOT massage and follow up with you in 2-4 weeks.

Inquiry for the injectors of Juvederm XC: Do any of you notice that the product migrates after lip augmentation? I would say that a handful of our patients have returned with uncharacterisitic bumps that seems to have migrated 1 week post procedure with this product. This is especially prominent along the vermillion border. No problem along the nasolabial folds though.
I have been having my lips augmented over the last 8 years and found that it was a very different experience with the XC. (past fills include collagen, Restylane, Juvederm Ultra AND Plus) Does the lidocaine addition to the product cause this does anyone suspect?
Regardless, I am an aesthetician in a medical practice and wanted to do a little investigating for my physician and patients.
Any input/opinions are much appreciated.
