Does anyone have any personal experience working with the Vaser company with their ultrasound assisted liposuction?

Yes, Dan. We use the Vaser in our practice as well as the SmartLipo and SlimLipo units. What question do you have?

I've purchased equipment from some companies, when once the purchase is complete that's the last you see of them. Is the machine reliable and doesn't break down and if it does is the company responsive in helping in repairs? Are you able to use this machine on smaller areas such as the chin and arms or do you reserve these areas only for the SmartLipo?

Dan,
We have never had a problem with our Vaser unit. It is a very reliable piece of equipment in our O.R.. As far as Sound Surgical goes (the manufacturer of Vaser Lipo), they have been a very good company to us for the entire two years we have had our unit. We seriously have no complaints.

The Vaser can really be used on any part of the body with proper training.

We choose not to buy the Vaser for our Patients because we couldn't get past those large incision marks. I believe Vaser is good if you have a patient with a lot of sub q fat, but not so wonderful for the smaller amounts. We have patients that will come in for lipo-redo's that have had Vaser, and those insision marks have turned into 1 inch scars. From following all the different type of lipo in the last few years, I was most excited about CoolLipo, although our Doc. keeps gripping about how long it takes for each area to tighten the skn, and the BodyJet water assisted liposuction, where you can suck out a great deal of fat, realitively quickly, not to mention the added bonus of being able to harvest the large amounts of fat to other areas.

In terms of response time for the Vaser people, I personally cannot say as we do not use the vaser in our practice, but down the street, one of our friends performs lipo and has a Vaser. He was performing an abdominal liposuction, when mid-way through, his Vaser broke down. The Vaser people fixed the unit within 1 week, but the patient wasn't happy about having a partial liposuction and then to have to repeat a few months later. We have never had this happen in our practice, because we have two coollipo units. So you might want to make a plan for yourself on how to finish up with the patient when/if the Vaser breaks down. Also, this guy is giving up his Vaser, but I think it is a lease. If you want to talk to him with any questions, he will be straight forward with you.

Wow, those are some pretty big incisions. The largest insertion hole we ever have with the Vaser can be closed with one suture.

After they heal, we treat our patients to a discounted price (very cheap) for Lux1540 resurfacing to soften the appearance of the insertion sites if needed. Talsyn cream works well too.

Hello,
I own a VASER as well as a Smartlipo. Sound Surgical is a great company.

So which is a better buy? Smart lipo or the Vasar??

I have been using the vaser since it first came out. The major advantage is that it is great in fibrous tissue . I use it always on redo lipo. Except for that I dont think it has any advantage over traditional tumescent lipo. The disadvantages are the larger scars and time involved to perform(doubles or time) plus the expense of the equipment. Laser lipo in my opinion is only a great marketing tool and the vaser is far superior is liquifying fat.

We had Vaser in our facility for over 2y and then tested out the Tickle Lipo. Because I do a lot of fat transfers, Tickle lipo is a better choice for me. It's more like a less traumatic suction assisted method in that the fat is aspirated while doing the contouring. I still use Cynosure's SmartLipo for additional skin tightening and contouring but sold the Vaser in order to get the Tickle Lipo. Tickle Lipo uses infrasonic vibration during the infusion of tumescent fluid and during the aspiration so less pain is perceived. There is also no heat so less post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, smaller incisions(3mm at most) and no heat trauma at all. Great results with fat survival with this technology as well but I really am seeing much better contouring with this than with any other technology.

I own 8 Medical spas and 3 surgery centers- We use Vaser exclusively- Our Board certified plastic surgeons insist upon it- I let them test the smartlipo, cool lipo, slim lipo, and at days end, Vaser gave the best results for the patient- As far as a company goes- I know the CEO first hand- You cannot be in better hands- They have integrity and always deliver- We are VERY happy with Sound Surgical and look forward to continued success for years to come.

I am enjoying my chiseled figure after having this procedure. It gave me a more masculine appearance. Definitely safe!

Same sentiments as beautyidoc. Tickle Lipo is also called Nutational Infrasonic Liposuction. It is somewhat similar to Vaser in emulsifying the fat in the extraction process but does not generate the heat and the incisions are typically a 1.5-2.0 mm punch. It works extremely well in areas where fibrous tissue can be a problem. Tickle Lipo has been available in the U.S. for a few years now. It was developed in Belgium in 1997.

I perform Vaser Shape treatments in a MedSpa, I had a couple patients that had good inch loss results and a couple with mediocre results. I expected more from such expensive equipment. I would say it was better for inch loss than skin tightening. I prefer the Viore Reaction for Skin tightening, with the Viore I saw excellent results with all clients.

Vaser Lipo procedure offers instant results, patients may still need to make significant lifestyle changes to maintain results.
