About $90,000 or so if you haggle a bit. Each new tip is about 400.00 dollars (you can do about 5 full faces with each tip).

do you need cooling device with fraxel and how much it cost.

I intermittently lease a Fraxel- I do not own it. We have been happy with the results- though of course they are not all that the rep claims. As you are aware, patient selection is key. A patient with some slight laxity and slight fine wrinkling will respond well- but it is not a substitute for a face lift.

We use the Zimmer chiller and topical anesthetic. Still not pain free, but it helps significantly. They are erythematous for about 3 to 5 days.

One of the best parts about it is that it is almost idiot proof. If you move the handpiece too slowly, it stops firing. If you are moving across the face too quickly, an alarm sounds.

The 400.00 tips you need are a pain- we sell a package of 5 treatments and include a tip in the price (you can do about 5 full faces with a tip). For us, the real problem is that to make it profitable, we need to charge around 1000 per treatment. After 5 treatments, many patients are wondering- "well, for a few thousand more, I can get a mini face lift."

So, we try to use it for patients with early aging changes that are too young for a face lift. I have not been satisfied with using it on older patients that think they are going to get significant improvement with a laser.

I agree withh a lot of what RLS says. Fraxel is a good choice for acne scarring. If you look at the studies you can see as good of results from the fraxel as from the CO2 without the risks or downtime. We see at least a 50% improvement in acne scars with the fraxel. Also it worrks great on the neck and chest for those patients with crepe skin or significant dyschromia. The biggext advantages are safety and minimal downtime. Our patients have been happy just make sure on your patient selection. We are charging $800/treatment. I own my machine and have done a few hundred fraxels.
