Tanning salons say that sun exposure reduces risk of cancer. Is this true?

I do not think sun alone is an anti- cancer longevity cure. There are many factors at play here. However, it is interesting to not that the individuals who live in blue zones are all sun soaked and tan.

It does keep the vitamin D levels up. Recently at North Carolina Med Society meeting, there was a resolution to support the AMA in its push to make tanning illegal for anyone under 18 years of age.

Probably does reduce the risk of many forms of cancer. For example, if he's gonna die of melanoma in his forties, a man's lifetime risk of prostate cancer is dramatically reduced.

If you could get vitamin D from cigarettes, will you start smoking?
