I am troubled by the “type” of person we have in our cosmetic field. The “used car” type of salesman has no place in cosmetic medicine because we are talking about ablating patient’s faces and we are talking about million dollar investments when doctors start an Aesthetic Practice. My problem with people like Robert Mann, Randy Freed (salesman for Solta [formerly Cutera]) is that these guys only care about themselves and the sale. They will sell you mudd and tell you it is an oil field. They will stab you in the back and screw you without a second thought (and then they will try to convince you that YOU are the bad person). They don’t care about the win win and they don’t care about patient safety or clinical results. This blog thread will explore these bad actors as we examine Robert Mann and Lumenis’ new Hair Removal Laser: The LightSheer Duet.

People like Dov Ofer hire people like Robert Mann and then "stand beind them" while they rape and pilage unsuspecting prospects. They don't just steal your wallet which contains a few hundred dollars, they steal hundreds of thousands of dollars which you are forece to pay off over 5 years.
People like Randy Freed sell you lasers that don't work and then they try to conince you it works for everyone else. They show you pictures that are lit from above and from the side (before) and then show you after pictures with full frontal flash (which makes the treatment look great). They are liars and decivers.
Randy everyone in the Philadelphia area now knows you are a liar. They have experience with you. You screwed them with your Cutera Lasers, what makes you tnink they will by a Thermage or a Fraxel from you. You have used up their trust. I suggest you move to another area of the country.
I think they all have ulcers and die young of heart conditions because of the stress of knowing what it means to be bad and evil and a total jerk. I know many excellent, ethical salespeople who work by helping people. They are in it for the win win. Robert Mann and Randy Freed and cretans who should be selling "used cars" not lasers for the medical industry.

Robert Mann, if you have the studies, let's see them.
If not, take your laser off the market until you can show that it works!

Editor’s Note: Cutera’s Titan does not work. It did not work in 2007 and it probably does not work now (I have not used it for 2 years). This is an exchange I had with Randy Freed at that time. He was my rep. He was and is an idiot. He is also vindictive and a total a-hole.
April 2007: Dr. Epstein, It sounds like you and Randy had a heated discussion today over your Titan V head (I had just bought a new head for $10,000. Two weeks later they came out with a significant upgrade and they (Cutera) would not let me exchange the head). Hi Carl, I just had a very disturbing interaction with my Cutera Rep. He was very upset about my email about Titan (I told him the Titan didn’t work). His attitude was defensive and vindictive. He is coming tomorrow to get his Titan head (he was loaning me the new upgraded head). I guess he is punishing me, he thinks that I have been a bad boy. Well, I am really pissed off. I don't like people trying to shut me up and I don’t like the fact that he is coming over to get something he was loaning me (I don’t sit still for vindictive a-holes). If his bosses pissed on HIM because of my email, that is his problem, not mine. If Cutera has a problem with this . . . they can kiss my ass. I am not going to sit down and shut up. Jeffrey E. I am no longer talking directly with Robert Mann or Dov Ofer (GM and CEO of Lumenis). I will only speak with them on this public blog. They don't care about patient safety or optimal clinical outcomes. They are arrogant and out of touch. His nose is brown and it smells like poo poo. He knows nothing about the practice of medicine and he knows less about laser surgery. This is the man who is leading on of the top laser companies in the world. This has to change. He is arrogant and he is single handedly standing in the way of innovation and protocol development. I have tired to work with him for almost a year. I have concluded that he is a total jerk and it is no longer worth my time to try to teach him what is right and what is needed. Robert Mann has to go. Until he is fired, I would not purchase a Lumenis laser. The training stinks and the support stinks. Your clinical results will be inconsistent and you will have complications you never imagined.
So, Robert Mann, be a man and come onto this public forum and let's have the debate. I say you are an idiot and a jerk. I say you are incompetant and you are leading Lumenis into the toilet. Are you going to be a tiny whimp and just take it? Are you a chicken? Are you afraid? Do you think you know what you are doing? Come on out, be a man. Defend yourself. Let's see what you are made of, I say you are an idiot and you don't know what you are doing. Let's see you prove me wrong. Come on, Robert, you little ... piece of crap!
