IPL & Laser Treatments > Post Laser Post Inflamentory Hyperpigmentation

I am asian and have skin type V. I had hair removal laser with Nd-Yag. I have badly PIH all over my face.. It's been six months since the hair removal laser but not much help. Please, help.

Please start topical hyperpigmentation tx ( HQ 2%, azalaic acid, retinoic acid mixed for night, and Vitamin C, Arbutin, + strong Sunblock with zinc or sunscreen for day time) as soon as possible. Wait 6 months and next time use an IPL device.
Incredible how lousy Nd:YAG can be for skins with hight amounts of melanin..

That's the problem with long pulse Nd:Yag which heats up skin. It takes about 6 months to settle by itself.

What you need for ethnic skin is an Nd:YAG with a shorter pulse duration, it's no real mystery. I am talking pulse width below 1 millisecond. Using IPL instead of YAG on ethnic skin is nonsense - IPL is, hands down, the most dangerous hair removal modality for darker skin. And if you turn the power down extremely low and massively extend the pulse duration just to avoid burns and hyperpigmentation, the efficacy is so low you might as well be using a flashlight.
