I represent a woman who suffered severe burns on her face during treatment with an Affirm Laser.

Cynosure convinced me to get a smartlipo 10 volt machine. It is very very slow and gives minimal results. My patients as well as myself are extremely dissatisfied with its performance. The company is only interested in making money. They tell lies about the performance of their machines. They take advantage of good hearted and trusting doctors. I know a number of practices where doctors are unhappy, are not making money from their machine, cannot make their payments and want the company to take their machines back.

Much of this comes down to the operator who is using the laser. If you are using it to tighten the skin superficially, it'll do a sufficient job at 10 watts not volts. Or for smaller areas like the sub-mental region. I started off with a 6 watt unit and have now moved up to the new 3 laser unit the have. Maybe you should consider upgrading your laser, my experiences with the technology have all been positive. My rep is average, but I am happy with their advances in technology.

I have the Smart lipo multiplex. I haven't upgraded to the triplex at the moment.
When I do the submental area, I do drop my wattage down to about 4 for the 1320 nm and 8 for the 1064 nm and have even done some patients with only 1064 nm alone for the submental (under 10w).

I have had good results.

For larger areas like the abdomen, it is easier to utilize higher wattage.
