IPL & Cosmetic Laser User Groups > QS 695 Ruby Laser
I hear mixed reviews, some people love, others are blah, others complain about hypopigmentation. Try it out and see for yourself.
Ruby is not particularly good for green ink! I'm not sure how effective the Alex is either. Green has always been a difficult colour to remove due to its molecular makeup. As far as I know the picosecond systems are probably the best, due to their higher peak powers.
Ruby not good for green ink. wow! Its been a gold standard since 62 that is until the magic pico evolved but does the pico do red?
I have the Medlite C6 but I'm finding it difficult to remove blue/green. After 15 treatments on a patient. It took 10 sessions to completely remove the black ink from his upper arm and the blue still remains, although it has faded a bit. Any suggestions?
I had a c6 you really need the 585 pulse dye hand piece to get the blues and that is slow as well. The only blues that will
come out and slowly with the 1064 are dark blues.
Apparently there is no such thing as black ink - it is actually blue! Tattoo artists change the colour by adding titanium dioxide which is highly reflective. They use this to make 'pastel' colours too. The problem is that the titanium reflects a lot of the incoming laser energy, regardless of wavelength (in the visible and near IR). Hence much of the energy is not absorbed by the ink particles and so they are harder to break down.
I am aware that sometimes poorly responding colours may be better treated with other wavelengths (alex, ruby or 2nd harmonic Nd:YAG) but it entirely depends on the constituency of the targeted ink.
@Gaye T, this is a poor laser to use for green ink. I've used the Q6 med light for greens and blues however it is not optimum beam for this color quantum has a better machine for this
Any comments on the efficacy of QS 695 Ruby Laser for green/blue ink? Thanks
