IPL & Cosmetic Laser User Groups > lasertraderonline / used laser company reputation

I am considering buying a laser from Lasertraderonline, However there are a couple of negative blogs on them but it is hard to judge from a few people and it is hard to know if the competition is behind it. They seem legitimated over the phone. Has any one dealt with them or has any comments?

if this is sam leher's company-stay away from it. We have had nothing but trouble from them.

It is Sam Lehrer's company. Do your research. Visit Dotmed and check the forums. Read his BBB profile. Google The Laser Outlet Worldwide.

We have warned you.

I would avoid them as well as Mike Moreno .. you are better off finding a doc that is selling theirs and buying direct from them I could tell you many a horror story based on my own personal experience.

Buying directly from a doc may introduce more problems than it's worth. First of all, doctors sell cheaper to dealers because we pressure them to. If a doctor can get rid of his laser in a private sale, it will likely be at a higher price than the laser is actually worth on the used market, and without any type of warranty- implied or otherwise. If you purchase from a dealer or broker you are more likely to end up with a laser that has, at least, been inspected, and/or refurbished, and at the same price the private seller is asking.

When you purchase from a broker- the broker should be able to provide inspection, repair/service, installation, and should absorb all the liability of the sale to the end user, and the purchase from the seller.

When you purchase from a dealer- you should never purchase used from a dealer who is not capable of offering a 12 month warranty. This is not to say you should not buy a laser with a 3 month warranty from such dealers- but if you ask for a 12 month warranty, and they are incapable of providing it, this is a sign they are incapable of honoring your 3 month warranty.

Most lasers on the pre-owned market will not fail within the fist 3 months. This is true for nearly any electro-mechanical device you purchase- even a car.

If you buy directly from a doctor you may have no idea who has traditionally serviced the laser, if anybody, what is the actual condition of the laser, etc. You may end up with a $35,000 paper weight, or boat anchor.

The best thing you, or anyone considering buying a laser through a gray market dealer can do, is to contact me. I either have contracted with them for install/repair over the yearsor at the very least, know of them. Most are very unreliable and will. I have been doing medical laser reapir for over 2 deacades and know who is trustworthy and who is not and I am not attached or loyal to any of them,so my opinion is not biased.
Believe me when I say, there are more bad ones than good ones out there.
