Physician Clinical Exchange > Of lip wrinkles and lines
If you mean smokers lines, then try ablative skin resurfacing plus Botox. If it's just lips, go with fillers.
I've been treating my patients with Mixto C02 laser. Very good results. Lasts for about 2-3 years.
Take a look at Sciton's TRL and ProFractional resurfacing treatments
Wow... Fractional CO2 for lip lines? That's a bit harsh, no?
Ablative skin resurfacing is not necessary for lip lines. They can be effectively treated with skin tightening- which is temporary (but then, so is ANY wrinkle reduction). They can also be effectively treated with NON-ablative skin resurfacing, photofacials, etc. Laser Genesis on the Cutera systems works great for fine lines and wrinkles. So does their Limelight IPL.
Fractional systems are also worthless on the used market. If you are looking to purchase a laser for wrinkle reduction, stay away from systems that lose 70% of their value in the used market. CO2 laser systems lose their value faster than any other medical device, PERIOD.
Skin tightening, IPL, Titan, and genesis DO NOT WORK for smokers lines. Tried and failed. Go with either microneedling or fractional laser treatment ( any kind) plus Botox for overlapping periods till you see the result of fractional. Blanket Erbium resurfacing works well too, but you need really good anesthesia.
Patient comes in with apparent lip lines. What's the best treatment for this?
