I am debating between the Spectra and the revlite or medlite.

i have the revlite and the spectra in my office.
I will definitely go with the revlite.
Revlite seems to clear the pigments faster than the spectra. I get amazing clearing of dermal pigments using the revlite.
However spectra does not require pre warming of the laser in order to fire. Revlite needs 5min of pre warming and 2 extra minutes of calibration before you can fire.
The lifespan of revlite flash lamp is 10 millions shots. The lifespan of spectra is about 1 million.

Nevertheless spectra is still a good laser. Customers are very educated these days, many come into my office and ask specifically for the revlite as they have seen good reviews of the revlite and the c6.

Spectra and revlite both have the ktp 532nm and both are able to perform vascular tasks such as spider veins. But kip may not be thte best laser for vascular. 1064nm long pulse yag or the pulse dyed laser may be the better choice for vascular issue.

You have been very helpful. I thought with the spectra's "Quasi-long pulse" duration it may be better at vascular than the Revlite, but I suppose this all relies on the other perameters of the laser.

I currently have an Alex but am looking to get into tatto removal and rejuvuination. I have been tossing up between a revlite or medlite and a spectra. I have also looked at the quanta but I think the con bio or lutronic offer more modalities.

Any thoughts?

Both revlite and spectra are still good systems.
I was using c6 for two years before I bought the revlite.
after 6 months I bought a spectra for my another clinic.
Revlite is way more powerful and effective than the c6 and the spectra.
Spectra is unique in such a way that it can perform carbon peel.
Another system you want to consider is the fotona qx max.

I have a spectra so far it is a great laser. I know it is more powerful than the C6 and I believe has an edge over the Revlite as well. I dont know about the quoted flash lamp life of 1 mill pulses, sounds low for a q switch.
Fontana is too rare, limited dealers and mostly seen in euorpe.

I own a Spectra VRM4, the latest version. So far it has done a great job. It has been very versatile and I have done tattoos, carbon peels ( great results), melasma treatment, rosacea treatments, etc, and have not been let down. For vascular lesions the 532 Q switched doesn't seem to do the job well. I would use a long pulse 1064 for that . The pulse width of a Qswitched laser doesn't seem to get the job done right. Thinking about the Q-sqitched laser alone without versatility of the Lutronic Spectra, I would buy the Quanta now. It seems to outperform and outlast any other system on the market, specially considering it has no consumables.

I dont know if it outlasts tjhe other systems. There are not alot of Quanta around. The medilte has a good track record and Lutronic is huge in the Asian areas. I have the 1st VRM4 in the US and love the system.
The parameters they gove for the 532 are inadequate for skin types III and down.
I find I get good results on reds and on brown lesions using the 4mm spot ( 3.4) on the handpiece and between 2-2.6J
try that.
I never did a Rubach 532 peel, its too risly for develpoing pigment variations.

THe lutronic is a great system. True Ruby would be fantastic but t the time I ordered mine about 1 1/2 years ago astanza wasnt around and quanta had only a few service points.

Forget about vascular with this laser the Q switch even at 532 is not for vascular, its the wrong modality to fast in nanosec where you need ms for vasc. If you do spider veins in all likelyhood you will have an angry patient with purpura.
The spectra has a 300ms pulse width thats to long for vascualr so its no good in evey direction.

Revlite or the medlite c6.
