Hello everyone! I had Botox in my forehead and I noticed that my brows are dropping, Is this likely to happen everytime?

Treating your forehead (frontalis muscle) with Botox will help to relax it by bringing it down. To avoid a " low eye brow" appearance you may also consider treating the areas above and between your eyebrows (glabella/procerus muscles),which will help to bring your eyebrows up and reach desirable balance and appearance. Too much Botox was probably the cause of your problem. Ultrasound treatment on that area would help to loosen and break up that area if it ever happens again

You will continue to seek Botox (as this is the best method to treat this). You need to make sure you know how many units were injected and where the injection sites were on the forehead as well as their dilution ratios. You need to make the injector aware of your brow issue and make sure they do not inject past the arch of your brow as well as up high enough on your forehead. You can also get injected in the glabella area (in between your brows and this can give you a very minimal lift). This will not happen every time and even the best injectors do this to patients. If you see the same injector they should know what happened and will make sure they take very precaution.

hi ziegler, this can happen due to too much Botox being put into the frontalis as it keeps your brows up,they then fall as the frontalis is unable to keep them up. personally I always give injections into the brow line to weaken the depressor muscles in the brows so keeping the brows as they previously were. good luck but make sure you explain the situation next time, however you should of gone back to the practitioner to have this rectified free of charge.

Chances are that the Botox was injected too low in the forehead muscle. The most important thing when having treatments is to ensure your injector is skilled and experienced and hopefully this will not happen. Beware of 'Botox parties' especially in non-medical facilities.

If you have an experienced injector who is familiar with the anatomy, then this should never happen to you.

I did get back in touch with the practitioner but she said that in time it would wear off,since then I have spoken to somebody who is a facial surgeon and he explained the anatomy of the face, Upon this he recommended that I should not had injections where I did as it smooths out wrinkles hence pushing my eyelids down.. thank God it is now ok..but very wary again .

When you are planning to get injected again, it is important to mention you had this problem before so your practitioner takes caution and injects higher enough on your forehead. It is also beneficial to treat glabella area at the same time to balance the lift with relaxation of frontalis muscles.The goal is to achieve forehead relaxation without overcorrecting.You might also find out how many units were used and try use a little less next time.You can always add more later but it can be frustrating to wait for the Botox to wear off.Good luck!

Yes it can cause the brows to drop, you need to be very careful of how much is being injected into your forehead and I always tell my clients not to rub or touch the area for 2 weeks as this can move the Botox around and cause droopy eyes. I myself never have Botox in my forehead as I always look saggy around my upper eyelids.
