Esthetician & Skin Care Products > Retail Commission

I've been a practicing esthetician for 17 years and decided to work part-time for someone for which I have been doing so for over a year now. In addition to my hourly pay, I receive a 10% commission on any retail products that I sell. Here is where the problem is. I recently had a client who needed skin care and spent an entire hour consulting with her on what kind of skin care she would need and why and how it would benefit her skin, etc, etc. She informed that she couldn't afford to purchase the products the day of the treatment but was planning on returning the following day to purchase the products that i recommended. When she returned to purchase the products the following day as she said she would, my boss, didn't give me the any commission on the products and instead put the commission under her name stating that she doesn't allow commissions to be paid to her estheticians unless the client purchases the products the day of the service. In the 17 years that I've been in this profession I never heard such non-sense nor have I ever had a spa owner do this do me or any of my co-workers. Any thoughts out there about this kind of practice and is this is a standard practice among spa owners. I'm outraged and discouraged to say the least.,
