Are there any new treatment modalities in the treatment of facial hyperpigmentation?

11.16 | Unregistered CommenterSharat

I have used the Fraxel Dual (1927) and have been successful in removing PIH and Melasma. Also, IPL has been effective, both have significant downtime with PIH and Melasma due to the amount of pigmentation. The only problem is that after treatment the pigment disappears and returns weeks later and worsens (darker and larger areas of hyperpigmentation) I have tried everything from Obaji NuDerm, Cosmelan, to anything and everything. There is a new product by Clinical Resolutions for therapy without heat using micro needling. They have a Vital PS Serum home application kit and the InnoPen clinical application with peptide growth factor. I am looking forward to trying it for my PIH. I'll follow up with my progress.

I can't figure out how to start a new topic. I apologize in advance. I am an esthetician who has been doing peels on myself for years. Paid a visit to the dermatologist esthetics department and was told I am never to do peels due to having psoriasis. this is a first......I am upset. I want the peel that is going to help my hyperpigmentation. but she sold me on a face wash that has AHA in it? weird. if I can't do peels why is it ok to have a face wash with AHA? help!
