Candela: Gentlelase, Smoothbeam, Vbeam > Are you having Problems with candela GentleMAX laser?

I am getting a lot of faults with the new candela gentlemax, and have had the machine replaced 3 times, with continued problems.
Has anyone else been having problems with this laser?

I am seriously thinking about purchasing the Gentlemax from Candela for our med spa. Please forward any futher information or feedback you may have concerning the problems you are experiencing with the laser.

Thank You.

Hi, I bought this laser 2 weeks ago and I had another during 2 months .
I think they have power supply problems .
What were your laser's problems or defects?
Now is your laser working?
Thank you .

power supply problems - but cheaper to maintain than any system.

We have had 13 repairs of our GentleMax over the last 12 months. We have asked the company for replacement of our laser several times and have been denied. Although they do come out and repair it rather quickly, the problem keeps reoccuring. During the latest repair this month the technician stated that "everyone" is having problems with it, that the problem is in the software, and that it cannot be fixed. Apparently the problem, at least with our GentleMax, is that the cryogen does not register as empty when it is empty, and therefore does not switch over to the other cryogen tank when necessary. We were told on our last "repair" that we will need to check our tanks manually before each use, as we cannot depend on the laser's sensors.

Sounds like this might be a safety issue with possible burns.
Should these lasers all be recalled?
I am sure if Candela put their mind to it they could fix the software problem.
Perhaps they are not MOTIVATED to do this.

Sounds like another problem with the TOP EXECUTIVES at this company.
Perhaps we will have to start naming names.

Who is the CEO of Candela and would he let his WIFE be treated with a Laser that did not spray coolant?

Is there an agency who would oversee such a safety issue?

I'm having some warranty issues with the Candela Gentle Max. When the warranty expired I was told I could purchase a new service contract by my sales rep. and the technician for $9000. for 1 yr or $17,000 for 2 yr. When the contract arrived the price was $16,000 for 1 yr and $23,000 for 2 yr. This is outrageous and the service people have have not been able to agree with the sales reps. have contacted the VP and CEO not had any response back yet anyone else have this problem happening?

The whole industry is a joke. These manufacturers charge an arm and a leg for the equipment and they can't guarantee it for over a year. Candela has always been horrible. The service contracts are too expensive, the service is lousy and their salesreps are low-class morons. The depreciation on their equipment is a lot worse then a car's and the leases are terrible.

I bought a GentleMax in June 08 and have been having nothing but trouble with it. I get lots of faults and recently needed a new power supply. I've had 6 repairs already. Many of my patients say it hurts more than my other laser (GentleLaseMini) and we've had many more incidents of hyperpigmentation which we basically never experience with the GentleLase. I've been using a GentleLase for 8 years and haven't had nearly the trouble. I've always had great luck with Candela service and sales reps. but I've about had it with this laser!

we have gentle max and we had nothing but problems and repairs, if anybody thinks this is what they are experiencing we all should get together and sue the candela for the folty equipment

Most laser companies continue to extort money out of the users after they charge us the exuberant amount for the purchase. They make up all kind of excuses for the charge. These go from parts, services, handpieces, consumables, accessories etc. These companies are so short-sighted and they are shooting themselves in the foot. It is natural to make a profit but they are outright greedy and crminal. I'll share more when the time is ripe and expose some of these companies. I'll tell you exactly what they do and what they are not telling you when you make the initial purchase. We are not in an ethical, honest and healthy industry.

Some of us as physicians, should we sometime also ask ourselves are we more and more like the industry people? Are you holding the same ideal now as we did when we entered the professional? Are we treating our patients they way the industry is treating us? Are we destroying our good names and credibilty because are equally, if not more short-sighted.

I am planning to open a spa / laser center in NYC. I checked different lasers and decided to purchase Candela GentleMax Laser but after reading your feedback I am not sure if I should buy that one. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Have you tried the Epicare LPX or DUO from Light Age, Inc? Incredible laser. MUCH faster and more powerful than Candela lasers and you won't have the mechanical issues. A bit more expensive but you'll see 2ce as many patients and make 2ce as much money in a day. I can do a pair of legs in 20 minutes.

I'm going to buy GentleLase. I have two Sciton platfroms, so I need Candela only for hair removing.
GantleLASE limited edition is only for HR, but new GentleLase is much faster and has bigger handpiece. Did someone tried both? Is the difference really noticeable? Did anyone had problems with GentleLase?
Thanks.

The GentleLase is used by most operators in Australia with very good feedback and no service complaints.

Can anyone advise how effective the MedioStar XT hair and vein laser from Asclepion is? Interested in knowing whether anyone has used it and how effective it has been in permanent hair reduction on the face-cheek, chin and upperlip medium -coarse hair (predominatly dark) on fair skin
Thanks

I work with a company called Medshare Technologies. We are a seller of pre-owned aesthetic equipment and are based out of Dallas Texas. Our company secured all the equipment from every American Laser Skincare location. Candela Gentlemax Pros, Syneron Velashapes, Syneron E Max's, Syneron E-Matrix, etc. All the equipment will be located at our showroom floor in Dallas. Please give me a call 972.467.2679 or send me an email CLoftin@Medsharetech.com if you have any questions or are interested in purchasing any of this equipment at high reduced prices. We have to sell ALL OF IT!

Is the Candella any better as of 3/05/2019? I’ve been seriously considering buying this machine, and have no idea what year all of these posts were posted. It now comes highly recommended, but it gives me significant pause to go for it.

For laser spare parts, our laser flow tube could help you save cost. We can produce different size of laser cavity filter according to customer’s requirement, single hole, double holes and triple holes. Based on the different application and other required properties, available materials are as below:
* Borosilicate glass (Pyrex glass)
* Synthetic fused silica
* Fused quartz
* Cerium Doped Quartz
* Samarium Doped Glass
The working efficiency is proved by many of our customers, domestic and overseas customers. Good quality and better price. Please reach me at zcq.sales@quartzwork.com Tori Wei

Definitely try the MotusAX or MotusAY by DEKA. User friendly, fast and LHR uses an Alexandrite for all skin types vs. a yag that is less efficacious for LHR on darker skin types.

And the Motus is literally pain-free LHR.
