Physician to Physician Discussions > Advice on speaking for pharmaceutical companies

I have been speaking for pharmaceutical companies for about five years. I don't speak for any and every company, just those that have developed medications that have greatly helped my patients and that have favorable efficacy and safety data behind them.

In the last couple of years, there have been fewer opportunities to do so. Are there any suggestions as to what to do to get more speaking engagements?

Some of the companies have regional or national speakers. What does one have to do to become a regional speaker? I realize companies may have different criteria, but am wondering if there are any specific things to do that would help.
