We are looking into adding more services to our medspa. Anyone who has recent experience/s with Hydrafacial? Is it worth the investment?

Hydrafacial is very expensive to maintain and use.

I really like the HydraFacial equipment. I do agree, serums required to run the machine can become costly, however, if you do any kind of laser treatment or invasive treatments the HydraFacial works well to round out the services you provide.

Tried the Hydrafacial but I still prefer DermaSweep. I have this since 2008. I just can't find an improvement over Hydrafacial.

Last week I had a demo with the Dermasweep - loved it. I have a demo with the Diamond Tome and Hydra facial scheduled. I already think the Dermasweep technology is more advanced, but, we'll see after the demos. FYI: the 'serums' for the Dermasweep are only $3 (clinically tested for efficacy; organic, paraben free) and are good for at least two treatments.

I love DermaSweep. Very adjustable to all skin types, exfoliates and stimulates circulation which leaves the skin so soft. The infusion process is awesome. Price point is expensive at purchase but up keep is very good. I don't regret my purchase in any way.

I would never replace Dermasweep. It's easy,quick and effective. Cost per use is great. I often use it on myself and love my results. Very noticeable difference.

I have been using Dermasweep for several years. I still prefer Dermasweep over the Hydrafacial. I just didn't find any real improvement with Hydrafacial. If you are looking at something with a Microneedle type treatment, try Clear and Brilliant- it has that type of technology mixed with ultrasound and bundled with Skinceutical products--seems to be getting good results.

I've had the hydrafacial for years and love it. Easy and cost-effective. I also have dermaplane, but I have those really dehydrated lines that need the hydrafacial. I also have Dermafile and just got the Dermatude. I am still looking forward to seeing the results I have heard so much about with the Dermatude.

Has anyone used the HydraFacial Oxygen Steamer with rose oil before?

Has anyone used the Edge system Hydrafacial? I would love feedback on the machine itself as well as your sales experience.

I had 2 treatments from 2 different Hydrafacial machines by 2 different estheticians over a 2 week period. It was an ok treatment..nothing extraordinary by any means. It was also hard for me to justify the cost of the machine and the treatments looking at it from a business owner's eyes and also a consumer.

What skincare line or an alternative line do you recommend to clients for maintenance post hydrafacial? Please let me know what's worked for you and clients.

I love the HydraFacial as a client and recommend it as a consultant to many medi-spas. Several things to consider are that the protocols are simply "goof proof". It is quick-and allows the esthetician or trained professional to give a fantastic treatment in less than half an hour. It can be an important marketing tool when trying to create "lunch time" treatments. The results are great-frankly I would never spend the money on another manual facial after having several HydraFacials.

@ a.k.s.: Their back bar items HA lotion sells well. I had a problem with contamination of the eye serum- thought to be the glass dropper in the processing. The retail pricing and profit margin are low. A better adjunct is IS products- a daily cleanser c serum and a peptide moisturizer. Hydrafacial can plump their lips-- adjunct peptide lip therapy.

Hi, we currently have 3 Hydrafacial machines. Bought the first one in 2007. Looking at the Silkpeel. We had a demo and it seemed quite similar to the Hydafacial, but less messy. Felt great and results looked fabulous. Anyone have the Silkpeel that may have some feedback? Thanks so much!

We purchased the " Hydrafacial " MD system and the feedback from our clients so far has been great! There are so many ways to customize the treatment, offering more aggressive peels to extractions with the hand held piece. The Dermal Builder peptide treatment smooths out fine lines and the texture and smoothness of the skin after a 30 minute treatment is nothing short of a WOW affect! Its fast, efficient, four times more effective than basic microderm (Vortex technology) with no down time. I'm a Master Esthetician and see this treatment as a definite keeper!

I found this treatment to be disappointing on several levels: the micro tips tore skin and caused broken capillaries (even at low suction level), the product line was mediocre at best and the infusion process was a quick treatment - because of the cost of the machine, you'd have to price the treatments at at least $150 each; patients found that to be a high price point for a quick service with minimal results.

Lots of claims being made..but are there any published scientific peer-reviewed papers or therapeutic registration of these devices with the FDA (or TGA in Australia)? Doesn't look like it as far as I can tell.

@ LJ: How long did you work with the machine? What setting did you have them at and still caused broken capillaries? I am new at using it, but so far have not experienced what you stated. The machine does not "think" for you, so you have to adjust for certain areas of the face, and what you choose to do. It is not a pampering type service, more results driven, so having it done within 30 minutes works for most. Anyway,as I said this is a new service for us, so still learning and happy to hear others feedback.

I use the Hydrafacial machine in my office and absolutely love it! I don't sell the Hydrafacial products. I have medical grade lines such as Obagi, Neostrata and Skincueticals. I've worked with these lines for years and have been very successful with them.

Hydrafacials are not only effective in a series on their own but works magic when coupled with laser procedures such as photo facials. Speeds up recovery process with the non invasive laser treatments. And good as a post care maintenance after recovery from a more ablative procedure like deep laser peel or resurfacing.

We have been offering the Hydrafacial for a number of years now at our Spa. As a moisturizing system that exfoliates this works very well and is popular among our sensitive skin clientele. We also offer the Dermafrac (microneedling/channeling) that works great for infusing serums and correcting various skin conditions such as acne scarring, aging, fine lines, wrinkles etc. Clients love the results. We don't retail the HD as I have my own product line (Institut' DERMed) that includes effective serums and we also offer Obagi to complement the results at home.

Another alternative that actually delivers serums to the upper dermis is the DermaFrac Micro-Channeling System. DermaFrac delivers high grade serums to this all important depth in the skin.

SilkPeel by far is the superior of all of these systems! It is the only true pneumatic delivery device with a full disinfecting cycle!

I have to say that the hydro facial will be helpful for your spa, and need also need professional operating methods to get better results! (Some people buy the hydro machine at home but without the professional knowledge, get less from such machine).
