Palomar: Starlux, Slimlipo & SINON > Technology Advice: What to add after a Palomar Starlux?
I went with the Cutera Titan and haven't regretted it. I didn't like the never ending cost of Thermage tips and the Titan has done extremely well for us. I'm convinced that Thermage is a flash in the pan and that Cutera's Titan is a better solution. Just my opinion.
You also have a consumable cost with the Titan but nothing near the individual cost of thermage tips. But in the long haul if you end up doing 5 treatments on a patient the cost is about the same or possibly even more. Titan is about 33 cents per pulse and a full face will be about 200 or more pulses so you do the math.
Also, the only thing you can currently use directly on the eyes is the Thermage. If you figure out a great protocol for the Titan I want to know. I paid a lot of money for it and have not recouped my costs as of yet.
If you are talking about technology, I would recommend to add an erbium for resurfacing next. Starlux does have a fractional handpiece but I would go with a straight erbium yag. You can start with superficial resurfacing and then go deeper as you feel more comfortable. I bought the Fraxel first and then the erbium. I wish I would have done it the other way around.
If you have not added injectables then add them next. They are relatively inexpensive to add. It will only cost you a couple of thousand to add these. Also think about lipodissolve training.
Make sure you have your overhead on the starlux covered first and do not forget about budgeting for head replacement on the Starlux. These types of things sneak up on you.
You seem to be pushing the Cutera. I also own the cutera and have had mine longer than you. I would like to know the parameters you are using to get the "wow" with. Believe me after spending over 150,000 I want it to work to its best capabilities.
I have had my Cutera Xeo with Titan for approx 3 years and have treated over 1000 patients. To get wow results one has to do the full 3 D that the Xeo provides. I combine each procedure with a microdermabrasion before and do Transdermal Mesotherapy at the end of the treatment. I have had approximately 7 dissatisfied patients over the last 3 years and they were usually the patients that only wanted the Titan treatment. Combination therapy is the way to go especially when one is doing non ablative laser treatments. Berfore and after photos are available if any one is interested.
Hello,
We are a company that buys used aesthetic Laser equipment as well as have a very wide range of new lasers available for purchase in our inventory. I wanted to see if you had anything available for sale? I would love to assist you if there is an interest in selling something. Not sure if you know, but our company is the only company to have taken over the account of the American Laser Skincare account. It was a HUGE LIQUIDATION! So we hold the largest in-stock selection of Aesthetic Lasers. Some of the things featured are… 100 Gentlemax Pros, over 100 Vela shapes, and much more new lasers between 40-60% off. We do trade-ins as well if you wanting to change from your old Gentlemax to a new upgraded one. Attached below you will find a document detailing the relevant information we will need to evaluate your equipment. Let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or comments. Or if you don’t have anything and just want our information, then keep us in mind for future changes and we would love to assist you with lasers that just are sitting around.
I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Thank you,

I currently have Palomar's Starlux with the basic package - 3 hand pieces as well as the violet. I have noticed many posters on this site probably have more options within their practice. By this I mean multiple laser etc. Any advice/opinions/suggestions as to a good addition to my practice that would complement the Starlux? I Would really like to add something for cellulite/skin tightening but am leaning away from Thermage.
