What are the requirements to work as a California licensed esthetician doing laser hair removal at a medspa under the supervision of a physician? I am currently growing a 1,000+ clientele base professional practice that offers waxing (and skin care & massage). Am seriously interested in bringing my practice under the supervision of a medspa physician, to be allowed to perform laser hair removal and other procedures. Any recommendations? Please help.

If these are your plan...plan on going to Nursing school and becoming a Registered Nurse or another, higher advanced medical professional (such as a PA or Nurse Practitioner ), otherwise, in the state of California you would be "practicing medicine without a license", which is against the law, and would be sanctioned by both the Medical Board AND the State of California ( in the form of prison time).

I agree with the above post unless you are an RN or above it is illegal to perform laser,Botox etc no matter how experienced you think you maybe. Another option would be to move to another state like arizona where techs can perform laser.
