Medspa Legal & Legislation > ER Doc Supervising PA in Cosmetics

Can an ER doc (which has the certification for laser use) supervise a PA working at a medspa in the state of California? The PA would be performing laser procedures only (laser hair removal/laser tattoo removal/laser acne resurfacing). The ER doc is employed by the medspa to act as a supervising physician (co-signing charts; no procedures done). Please provide thoughts and advice.....

Yes. I think that if the MD is covered you should be able to provide care. I would still check with the state. I think that if there's an issue it will be in your malpractice insurance and if you can get it covered.
