My husband and I are new to the med spa as well. We are going to a conference headed up by physicians to learn techniques as well as hands on with injecting.
Next we will rent a small space from a successful salon here in town and book appointments during our off days while keeping our full time careers for now.
For reference I am a nurse practitioner on the intensivist service at our local regional center and my husband is an emergency room physician. Hope that would help.
I've also contacted med spas in my state by doing face book searches.
