Medical Spa Business Forum > RN Injector

I am an RN who has almost a year of experience in a plastic surgeon's office. My passion is to become a nurse injector, I know it's something I'd be good at as I have an artistic eye, and love the technical side of nursing. I'm considering taking a nurse injector/laser training course. For those of you who work/own spas, how apt would you be to hire someone with only that experience? I'm trying to see if its worth the investment? My area is too small (although I'm moving soon, destination unknown) to find an MD here to train me. Thoughts and suggestions are deeply appreciated!

If this is a service (injections ) that you wish to provide , then I do suggest the training. You have to start somewhere. With that being said, the best way to get experience is to begin injecting and after you have spent some time observing a good MD or RN injector. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply kathjones. I have always planned on taking the course, but would still like to know if anyone would hire someone with just that experience?

I have hired nurse injectors with limited experience. The important thing is to make sure they understand the anatomy and have a good eye. I oversee their work until I am comfortable with their injection techniques and patient interaction skills. This is best accomplished by having them inject staff, family of staff, etc.

The doctors I have worked with prefer Nurses to learn more from them so I think you'll be fine!!! Get good training and stress what tore most comfortable with!! As long as you can sell yourself, you should have no problems!!

I think the best thing is to get trained and excel in it. You'll be selling like hot cross buns.. Buy the book facial topography by chief editor of American plastic surgery chief in editor, learn each muscle in the face function ,innervation that will expand your knowledge and make you in control and it is a matter of knowledge and practice. Certainly youll not be left alone in the first couple of months until you get the nack of it
