When done correctly, a refurbished laser cavity is almost as good as new. I say "almost" because refurbished heads don't normally undergo the same type of testing that a brand new one undergoes, but considering my own personal track record, they seem to be as good, and last as long as the new ones. The key is doing them right.

Our company owns two apogee 5500 modular type alexandrite laser. Now we refurbish the chambers as cavity replacement and refurbishment. I wonder your experiences. Is a new chamber or a refurbished one can more cost effective and problemless ?
