which is better in your opinion? Ultherapy or Thermage? i am evaluating these procedures in my clinic and I would appreciate your thoughts on these treatments. thank you!

Exilis.
Absolutely no expensive consumables.

Ultherapy does not require insertion of heat. The heat is transmitted via an ultrasound probe which causes tightening of the tissues of the face and neck. It is the least invasive method of facial tightening that has been approved by the FDA and has been shown to be superior to thermage both in results and patient satisfaction.

I think it would depend on what area you're considering.

I think that consulting a well-being or spa therapist may help if you could envision a program that is safe and effective, with hopefully little need for aesthetic machine enhancers.

Someone will be demoing the Ultherapy on my clinic tomorrow. Is it worth the investment? What is your experience?

I don't care for thermage which basically results in skin tightening via collagen stimulation. The results are variable with only about 33% demonstrating significant improvement. I prefer the exilis, it does not have the high consumable cost and the predicted outcome is nearer to Ultherapy. Ultherapy is unique in that it can give a lifting that I don't find nearly as much in exilis.

No technology is perfect. Ultherapy is the most effective non-invasive treatment I have seen for a deep tissue contraction and collagen stimulation below 3mm. As with all technology, patient selection is vital as well as skills in applying the technology. However, we were not impressed with the software "upgrade" earlier this year (more graphics and less function) along with seemingly increased in transducer failure rate. The transducers have a very short expiry date and therefore may not be ideal for practices that do not perform enough treatments.

I used to work with Ultherapy. In my opinion, it is neither good for business nor for the result. Treatment is extremely painful. In order to finish the treatment, it is necessary to reduce parameters. Lots of time is necessary for the application of topical anesthetic and then for the anesthesia. Because of pain, it is a necessity to interrupt the treatment. The promised result will be achieved within 2 months. Downtime: The results with the RF is better than this system.

Thermage is a winner in the shallow arena. Combining Thermage + Ulthera offers great results. Topical anesthetic is essentially placebo effect for deep treatments below 2.5 mm. However, there is a steep learning curve on Ulthera. The machine must be used correctly.

Ulthera is the hands down winner if it done correctly. I would say the majority of my patients will complete the treatment with out medications. They do state it is uncomfortable but bearable. I do live in an area with stoic patients.. I have seen some amazing transformations with Ulthera. I agree there is a steep learning curve, but it is well worth it!

I am surprised that there are clinics still offering Themage.
Ultehra definitely is a better choice.
exilis elite seems to catch up with Themage now. I have seen so many amazing results on exilis.

Ulthera is the best skin tightening device on the market. My results are outstanding. However, I have noticed a shortened duration response to Botox. It seems that Botox injected 2 weeks before or after Ulthera shortens the life of Botox to 4-6 weeks. Typically, I also perform ErYag laser resurfacing 1 month post Ulthera to resurface the skin. Truly beautiful results.

There is no doubt about pain and pain control. Wished all my patients were as stoic as abyra's. Personally, having had this treatment myself, it was painful but bearable without any medications (while most of my staff watched happily).

I have personal experience in the use and application of Ulthera in my clinic. My investments in the purchase of the Ulthera system was well worth it. I got the money back in 9 months, but that was 3 years ago, when this method was the only one in the field of non-surgical skin tightening. Today, the market has a more rapid and less painful procedure as PDO lifting thread. This technology provides fast and immediately visible results.

Pdo is here and will dominate the lifting procedure for a while.
It is so simple, so cheap( cost of consumables, just threads) and super safe.

I do believe Ulthera is very different from any thread lifts as it actually contracts the skin as well as induces collagen production. How's the PDO better than the traditional thread lifts from many years ago?

We use PDO threads in my clinic since last year. My doctors conclude that they are good in addition to Reaction -skin tightening or filler injections. They are not expensive and the profit is comparable with filler injections. However, bruising is a common consequence of PDO threads.
